Also known as scrub pine and spruce pine. The majority of trees in natural sand pine stands of western Florida, especially between Panama City and Pensacola, bear cones that open when mature. These stands tend to be uneven-aged, somewhat open, with abundant reproduction developing in the openings. Sand pine stands in eastern and central Florida are generally dense and even-aged with a majority of the trees bearing serotinous cones.

Sand Pine is a beautiful 4 bedroom cabin built in 1997 and remodeled in 2005. For your comfort, this cabin is equipped with central heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a large kitchen including a dishwasher. The log furniture inside is all new for the 2005 season. The main level of this cabin includes a full size bathroom with shower/tub. Two bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the other with a full size bed. Wood vaulted ceilings in the kitchen and living room, and two inter-spring futons. The lower level is a walkout with a large 3/4 bathroom with a shower, sitting/living area with an inter-spring futon and 32" TV with Direct TV, and two bedrooms, one with a full size bed and the other with one full size bed & one pillow top queen size bed. A sliding glass door allow you access to the huge deck which is a hop-skip-and-a-jump from the lake. Enjoy cooking outside as each cabin has a Weber grill, a picnic table and a fire ring. Included in the cabin rental is one dock slip and the use of the Water Toys.
